Are you making any resolutions for 2017? Why not consider these 5 style intentions to help keep you stylish the entire year.
I will only wear clothes that make me feel confident.
Take a moment to think about what clothing makes you feel confident. It might be a certain dress, a leather jacket or a special pair of shoes. Make sure you have these items clearly identified and vow to wear them more often. In fact, think about creating a “work uniform” out of the type of clothing that makes you feel your personal best. You’ll be ready to handle any new challenge coming your way!
I will not care about size, instead I will focus on fit.
It doesn’t matter that you use to be an XXS and now you can barely get into an M. No one knows the size except you! Or, perhaps, you are buying clothes that swallow you up because you want to hide your lumps. Wearing clothes too small or too large do not make you look your best. You will only look fabulous if your clothes fit you well.
I will purge my closet of all items not worn in the past 2 years.
Unless it is a family heirloom, toss out any item that you haven’t worn in two years. The more cluttered your closet, the more cluttered your brain! Keep your closet clean and organized so you see what you have and you don’t waste time trying to figure out what to wear. You have better things to do!
I will focus on my personal style and not trends.
Were you one of the many that bought quite a few cold-shoulder tops last year? You bought them even though you weren’t that fond of the trend plus your shoulders actually do get cold when you wear them! Now you are sorry you made this trendy purchase as they will just hang in your closet. Take time to determine your personal style without considering trends. Vow this year to cultivate your unique personal style by only wearing what you truly love and what makes you feel good.
I will jump out of my comfort zone.
No matter your age, size, complexion, don’t be afraid to try something different. I know you like black but why not embrace colors this year? Or mix some funky prints. Looking your best may mean you have to step out of your comfort zone every so often and try something new. You might surprise yourself and find something you love when you least expect it. It may be a long drab winter and we may need something that makes us smile and feel good!
Happy New Year,
LOOK GREAT | FEEL GREAT | DO GREAT!
