Here in the Northeast we may finally get our first major snowstorm of the winter. Even though I’m supposed to travel this weekend, I am still hoping for some significant snow. That’s why I live where I do – I like all four seasons!
However, that doesn’t stop me from thinking about spring. And this week I received an email from one of my favorite companies titled “Our Spring Fashion Preview: Our Antidote to the Winter Blues.” Of course, I had to open it.
Ethically Made Fashion
I want to feature Indigenous as a “Thankful Thursday” blog as the company is committed to eco-friendly fashion produced through ethical, fair trade. All their clothing is made through fair trade conditions that can be verified. They only use natural and organic fibers and low impact dyes. They make sure their artisans make a fair, living wage well above what they might earn independently. It just feels good to buy from and support Indigenous.
The 2016 Spring & Summer Collection
Now, on to their clothes! Each piece is classic and well made. I have purchased both winter & summer clothing – skirts, sweaters, ponchos, scarves, winter hats, etc. You can buy their clothes online and also in local boutiques.
The 2016 spring and summer line was inspired by the gorgeous blue of the pacific, and the rocky coast of Northern California. Here are some of my favorite pieces. Click on each picture to go to their website:
If you’re after winter bargains visit their clearance page. Here are a couple of items that caught my eye. The first item is the Fair Isle Jacket, reduced 65% (size medium only). The 2nd is the aerial poncho, reduced 50%.
If you want quality clothes that are modern, feel good when you wear them and also help communities instead of exploiting workers and preserve the environment then look at Indigenous.
Shop ethically, shop smart, and look good doing it!
