Spring is now arrived and finally, this week, the weather has turned warmer. I decided this was the time to put my winter boots away for the season. Yippee! Now’s the time to focus on my spring/summer footwear.
Many of you are busy spring cleaning your closets. This is also the time to freshen up your spring footwear. Out with the boots and in with the sneakers, the lace-ups, and the mules!
So, in celebration of cleaning out my mudroom, I’m showing you some of my favorite footwear trending now. Hopefully, you will get some good ideas to freshen up your spring footwear.
Spring Footwear – Chic Sneaks Are Everywhere
Sneakers are a major trend this spring. As usual, you can find all the typical athletic brands such as Nike, Puma, new Balance, and Reebok. However, this spring they come in all different colors, style, and designs. The Nike Free RN Flynit is my favorite by far. It provides support for my fast walks and yet are so comfortable. I have several pair and I have never had to break them in – absolutely no blisters. Just like Nike, sneakers like Vessi shoes are also comfortable and you don’t even feel like you are wearing anything, they are so light. That’s what I like about wearing sneakers. If they are both comfortable and stylish, that is even better.
Here are a few other favorites in a sneaker type style.
1.) Nike Free RN Flyknit, $120
2.) Converse Chuck Taylor, $55
3.) TOMS Pale Pink Suede, $89
4.) OluKai Pehuea Slip-On Sneaker, $80
5.) Superga Cotd Studded, $109
6.) So Nice by Seychelles, $110
The slip-on sneaker is also very hot this spring. I like slip-ons for everyday wear as I am constantly taking my shoes on and off as we have a “no shoes” policy at home. I get tired of bending over, tying/untying/etc. The OluKai slip-on (#4) has been rated highly for comfort and support. It’s got a cool and breezy mesh upper with dual-sided goring for easy on and off. The best feature is its anatomical insole with arch support; it’s removable and should accommodate an orthotic. It also has what Olukai calls a “Drop-in Heel” which allows the heel to fold in transforming the shoe into a slide. Spring Footwear – The Lace-up Trend
If you like the lace-up trend, you shouldn’t have a difficult time finding sandals, heels, flats or almost any kind of shoe with laces.
1.) Ugg Amell, $110
2.) TOMS Calips, $69
3.) Soludos, $79
4.) BP Sarah, $70
5.) Stuart Weitzman Corbatta, $398
Spring Footwear – Mules Are Back
Mules are back in a big way this year. Mule, a French word, is a style of shoe that is backless and often closed-toed. Mules can be any heel height – from flat to high. I am not a big fan of mules as I find many of the styles make my long foot look longer. However, I love the fact that you can just slide a mule on/off and not have to bend over and tie a lace.
Here are some of the unique styles that stood out to me.
1.) JAGGAR Resolve, $125
2.) Frye Gwen, $198
3.) Tory Burch Maritime, $225
4.) Schutz D’Ana, $170
5.) Zendaya Daya, $190
6.) Kristin Cavallai Luvvock, $88
There is so much to choose from this spring. You should be able to find something that you love and is comfortable so that you can do all that walking outdoors!
One additional reminder – while you are looking down at those feet, make sure they are spring ready by giving them a good pedicure. Scrub away the winter calluses!
LOOK GREAT | FEEL GREAT | DO GREAT!
