Do you know your professional imprint is the most important communication tool you have? Your imprint is recognized within 7 seconds of someone meeting you. It may not seem fair but, unfortunately, people form an impression of you immediately.
When I meet with my clients, I first ask them “What do you want your clothes to say about you?” The second question I ask is “What are your clothes currently saying about you?” Many times there is a disconnect between their answers. If you were posed these questions would you answer both questions the same way? Have you intentionally given thought about what your Outside is saying? Is it telling the story you want told?
You can intentionally define the imprint you want to leave on this world by thinking about the vision you have for yourself, your passions, your values, what you want to accomplish, your behaviors, and your confidence. Then you can take the step to build your Outside appearance to be in line with your Inside passions. This is a step toward living an authentic life and to be the best possible version of yourself.
If you are interested in defining your professional imprint, mark your calendar for Tuesday, June 28th from 9:30am – 12:30 pm. Dena Davis of ACTion Performance & Leadership and I will be facilitating a workshop at the Center for Women & Enterprise in Providence. More info coming soon – contact me if you are interested.
