As Valentine’s Day is approaching, the color we are seeing everywhere is the most popular color in February, Red.
The Color Red
I wouldn’t say that I wear red on a regular basis. In fact, I only wear the color during December for the holidays and keep it in my wardrobe through February. During spring and summer, I choose rose or pink shades but not a true red. The color makes me think of my father. As a young girl, he would compliment me when I wore it. Red is a good color for me – not sure why I don’t wear it more.
It’s possible that red is not a dominant color in my wardrobe as I’ve always thought of red as a bold color, a color that makes a statement, and for most of my life, I really didn’t care to stand out. Perhaps, I should consider it more now . I should take this step to get out of my comfort zone and try something new!
What Can Red Convey?
When we see red (lol!) we see fire, passion, strength, bravery, power. When we want to emphasize written words we use a red font. Studies show that red can even have a physical effect, such as increasing our breathing, our blood pressure, and making our heart beat faster. If you think about it, most of the images that represent passion and love are red: red roses, red lipstick, red lingerie, red heart boxes of candy on Valentine’s, even the “red light district.”
What do you experience when you see someone wearing red?
