Every year new beauty products are released with promises of making you look younger and more beautiful. It’s estimated that women, on average, spend $15,000 in a lifetime on makeup. Add to that, the money now spent on facials, botox, and facelifts.
I have nothing against any of this – in fact, I spent 15 years working for a global beauty company and I’ve spent plenty of money on my face!
But my tip today costs you nothing – zero!
No matter your age or the color of your skin,
the best makeup is your smile.
Smiling has a powerful impact on you and others around you. A smile will always be the best thing that you can do. However, I do know some people who are very self-conscious about their smile and like to go to places like San Diego cosmetic dentist. That costs money obviously, but if it’s what you want to do then go for it. A smile can makes someone’s day that’s much better so do whatever you want.
The Power of Your Smile on Others
A smile has special powers – You can calm anxiety, fear, and feelings of sadness in others. Have you ever tried it? They say that 55% of communication are our gestures and facial expressions so make sure when you are talking or listening to others you put a smile on your face. It will be contagious, others won’t be able to help but smile! This is why it is such a tragedy that people feel ashamed to smile because their teeth are crooked. Hopefully, they can learn to love their teeth, but if not there is always the option to have braces. In fact, London Invisalign has been well recieved in this respect.
The Power of Your Smile On You
First for the science – each time you smile your brain releases serotonin which serves as an antidepressant and fights off stress.
Second, you’re actually more attractive when you smile. Really! Again, based on scientific studies by the Face Research Laboratory at the University of Scotland. Subjects were asked to rate smiling and attractiveness. The results were that both men and women were more attracted to images of people who made eye contact and smiled more than those who didn’t.
Third, and most important, smiling gives you confidence and gives the impression of having confidence. And we all know that self-confidence is the most attractive quality a woman can have!
So, try it today and let me know how it goes. If you are down, try a smile – did it make you feel better? Did you make a positive impact on another person by smiling at them?
